Keith was recently named to the Board of Directors for the Scottsdale Museum of Fine Art. Martin and Cindy have passed on their passion for art to their son Keith Galbut and his wife Becky. He founded the “Orgy of the Arts” at Northwestern University when pursuing his undergraduate degree, and he and his wife make significant contributions to an annual art scholarship, the “ Galbut Art Prize,” at the Arizona State University Herberger School of Art. Martin’s passion for the arts goes back many decades. His paintings can be found at: and in the Montage Kapalua Bay hotel in Hawaii. Portions of Martin’s and his wife Cindy’s personal collections have been featured in the Phoenix Art Museum and the Old Lyme Museum, and are also on display at the firm’s office in Scottsdale.Īs a painter, Martin is a three-time recipient of the Arizona Bar Association Attorney Artist Painting Award. Martin’s love for the arts spans over 50 years and his family’s private collection focuses mainly on American and European art from 1880 to 1920, with an additional focus on Asian art, including Chinese and Japanese pottery, porcelain, and export silver. Though Martin is primarily known for his five decades of work in the legal community, he is a devoted supporter of many arts initiatives and institutions, as well as being an accomplished collector and artist in his own right. Advancing these goals is consistent with Martin’s long-time dedication to enhancing collaboration with many groups and organizations in the Valley. The Museum’s mission statement is “to ignite imaginations, create connections, and serve as a vibrant destination, a brave space, for all people who wish to experience the transformative power of art.” Martin is thrilled about his involvement with such an esteemed organization and hopes to further enrich our community by increasing participation, attendance, events, and contributions to the Museum.
